WHAT OUR CITY NEEDS.
Our City needs a full time, knowledgeable, experienced, common sense Mayor, unbeholden to special interests and committed to the people of San Antonio.

A Mayor who understands how city government works and how it should work.
A Mayor who has worked directly with the people of our community for many years. Someone who has common sense when making decisions and leading the city, but that
common sensibility is based on knowledge, understanding of the circumstances and the community needs,

A Veteran and a Teacher and a four term Councilmember John Courage brings a unique blend of experience and dedication to the table. As a veteran of the US Air Force, he understands the value of discipline, teamwork, and service to his country. For 25 years, he has been a dedicated teacher in San Antonio, shaping the minds of our future generations. His commitment to education and his passion for Public Service make him the perfect candidate to lead our community.

"As your Mayor, I’ll ensure affordable housing for all, improve our infrastructure, and enhance public safety to create a thriving city. I'll also invest in better education and provide the care our seniors deserve. Together, we can build a stronger, more inclusive community."
Public Safety
Protecting our community with proactive measures.
Safety in our neighborhoods is non-negotiable. I will work to enhance our police force by increasing neighborhood patrols and emergency services while also fostering strong community partnerships, ensuring that every resident feels safe and supported. On Council, I have been a strong advocate for increasing the number of officers and supported a contract with the Police Union that seeks to recruit and retain the best officers in the nation.

Infrastructure
Modernizing our city for a brighter future.
San Antonio is the fastest growing big city in the nation. To keep up with the demand of our growing community, we must invest in the modernization of our roads and public transit. As your mayor, I will prioritize connectivity and public transit that increases mobility options for working commuters.

Affordable Housing
Creating housing opportunities for everyone.
I will prioritize more affordable housing options within targeted areas of redevelopment and around employment centers making sure that every resident, regardless of income, can find a safe and comfortable place to call home. The affordable housing crisis will be the greatest challenge of the next administration and I am committed to removing barriers, especially to create home-ownership.

Tax Relief
Providing sensible tax relief for hardworking families.
No other elected official has been as successful as I in advocating and securing meaningful tax relief for working families. I have advocated for sensible tax relief measures that ease the burden on households while ensuring we maintain the quality of services our city relies on. I was the first push through the local homestead exemption and most recently increased it to the state law max. In 2025, the City of San Antonio will provide $147 Million in tax relief to homeowners.

Senior Services
Let's support our seniors' well-being.
I will work to expand services and programs that support our aging population in ways they prefer, ensuring they can live with dignity and remain active members of our community to include increasing "Aging in Place" strategies. As Councilman, I opened District 9’s state of the art Senior Center near Walker Ranch Park and fought to expand hours across the City.

Our Economic Health
Growing San Antono’s jobs and pportunities
As San Antonio flourishes people will continue moving to
San Antonio and so will their need for jobs and opportunities. It is our responsibility to nourish that growth, to enhance the economic security of every resident. Supporting continuing growth with the businesses we have as well as providing support and incentives new companies and businesses to come to San Antonio is a cornerstone of my Mayoral agenda.
